1966年，Andy Warhol邀The Velvet Underground的Lou Reed为他的御用女主角Edie Sedgwick写一首歌，于是就有了著名的“Femme Fatale”。
Femme Fatale是个法语词组，相当于英语的fatal woman，通常译作红颜祸水或蛇蝎美人。

Warhol Superstar
Edie Sedgwick是POP艺术先驱Andy Warhol发掘的超级明星之一。超级明星（Superstar）这个词，虽然不是Andy Warhol创造，但确实是从他开始才成为常用词汇的魔神凯撒 。黄杏初 1960年代Andy Warhol发掘包装了大批超级明星，有一个专用词描述这些人，Warhol Superstar。
A friend of mine named Ingrid from New Jersey came up with a new last name, just right for her new, loosely defined show-business career. She called herself "Ingrid Superstar". I'm positive Ingrid invented that word. ——Andy Warhol
Edie Sedgwick是Warhol Superstars中的佼佼者。1965年她在纽约与Andy Warhol相遇张梦瑾 ，接着成了后者眼中的女神，出演了Warhol导演的18部电影。

Edith Minturn Sedgwick
Edie Sedgwick本名Edith Minturn Sedgwick，出生于加州Santa Barbara的名门望族，从小吃穿不愁。父母一共哺育了八个子女，她排行第七。略有遗憾的是，这个家族虽极为显赫，但却有精神病患的基因，Edie的父亲和哥哥都为精神问题所困扰无敌当家 。
Edie Sedgwick患有厌食症，并曾于1962年进入精神病院治疗。

Factory Girl

1964年移居纽约看来是Edie Sedgwick的一个正确选择，在遇到Andy Warhol以后她的人生翻开了新篇章。

Andy Warhol的工作室名为工厂（The Factory）陈鹤皋，于是Edie Sedgwick就成了工厂女孩（Factory Girl）。自1965年开始，Edie Sedgwick成功跻身时尚圈，被视作一种青春震撼（Youthquaker）。
举办完巴黎画展后，Andy Warhol决定要将Edie Sedgwick塑造成工厂女王。在拍摄《黑胶》（Vinyl）时，Warhol第一次让她出现在镜头前（一说是在另一部电影Horse中），后来的《厨房》（Kitchen）则让她成为主演。

Warhol在1965年出品的一众电影里铁血骠骑，《可怜的富有女孩》（Poor Little Rich Girl）几乎就是为Edie Sedgwick量身定制的。电影就在她的公寓里拍摄。

Edie出演的影片主人公没有工作，整天呆在家里无所事事。抽烟喝咖啡、电话聊天、试穿新衣是她的日常生活，不过还好她偶尔也看看书。
1972年的《再见曼哈顿》（Ciao! Manhattan）是Edie Sedgwick真正的自传式电影，她化身女主角Susan Superstar。就在拍摄期间，电影情节与现实事件之间偶尔还发生了转换。
《再见曼哈顿》由John Palmer和David Weisman导演，它对于Edie Sedgwick充满悲剧意味。开拍后不久她的父亲去世，而在电影摄制完成后一周，Edie Sedgwick自己也去世了。

先有了推广人Chuck Wein，Edie Sedgwick才会认识Andy Warhol 民国二小姐 ，她的事业才会起步。这三位同框的照片记录了经典时刻。

由于一口气拍摄了好几部地下电影，Edie Sedgwick和Andy Warhol的关系显得相当密切，至于发展到什么程度只有当事人知道了。
后来发生了一场公寓火灾，她只好搬到了著名的切尔西旅馆（Hotel Chelsea）。在那里她碰到了Bob Dylan并爱上了他，这件事至少她那患精神病的哥哥言之凿凿。

然而Bob Dylan在1965年11月就和自己的女友Sara Lownds秘密结婚了。但据说他1966年的著名专辑Blonde on Blonde里有两首歌写的就是Edie Sedgwick，更有人说整张专辑都是。

同为Andy Warhol工厂里的明星，The Velvet Underground与Edie Sedgwick也不陌生。

除了开头提到的，Lou Reed应邀为Edie Sedgwick创作了Femme Fatale以外，The Velvet Underground还与她合作了After Hours糖果屋历险记 ，里面可以听到Edie Sedgwick朴素稚气的声音，大概勉强可称之为唱——可Lou Reed不也是这样吗？

后来人们发现，与The Velvet Underground长期合作并演唱Femme Fatale的Nico，在生活中忠实地再现了红颜祸水这个角色。Femme Fatale同时属于Edie和Nico两个人。

鉴于那个时代的弄潮儿活动范围有限，Edie Sedgwick与垮掉的一代诗人Allen Ginsberg合作，或在酒店门口偶遇滚石乐队的Mick Jagger，都不值得大惊小怪。

Edie时尚圈
Edie Sedgwick当初作为Youthquaker进入时尚圈。她迅速成名之后，也同样迅速地结束了与Andy Warhol工厂的合作，此时时尚圈已对她虚席以待宋飞传 。

1966年开始世界杯彩票，Edie Sedgwick更多地以时尚模特与名媛的身份出现在人们眼前。不过她的典型风格仍然来自此前Andy Warhol的包装，短发，烟熏妆朵朵舞，夸张的耳饰，大胆的印花，黑色紧身裤和短裙，还有豹纹和皮草，她满身都是时代符号。她还被称作“It Girl”，意思是说她性感招摇。
时尚界对Edie Sedgwick的怀念绵延至今，现在在杂志网站上还经常能看到以Edie Sedgwick为标签的服饰，并且喜欢成套出现。

Ciao! Edie
尽管Edie Sedgwick是个有痣青年，但她显然不可能成为身心健康的那种。对烟酒和药物的依赖，让她自己都知道活不过30岁。
果然，1971年夏天她才与在医院里认识的Michael Post结婚，到了冬天就死于药物过量，终年28岁。
事实证明，她几乎没有真正进入任何人心里，甚至Andy Warhol对她的去世也反应冷淡。
但她又留在所有人心里，不过那都是后来的事。


后人创作了不少影视作品纪念她。2006年George Hickenlooper拍摄的《工厂女孩》就是Edie Sedgwick的传记片。不过它暗示其死因与Bob Dylan的拒绝有关宇宙通缉令，引起后者的不满。

还有一些以Edie Sedgwick为主题的音乐以及纪念音乐会，英国乐队The Cult的Edie(CiaoBaby)是其中比较有质量的。它带着点Queen那样的艺术摇滚味道。
